Albany, Georgia is the principal city of the metropolitan area located in the southwest part of the state.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city itself consists of more than 77,000 residents, while the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) had an estimated population of 157,308 residents. This ranked Albany 252nd in the U.S. in 2010. The MSA consists of Dougherty, Terrell, Lee, Worth, and Baker Counties.
